To wrap up the 2021 season, we were fortunate enough to celebrate our Tigers with all of the sports the Carina Leagues Club sponsors. In a room full of successful athletes, we were able to showcase our #TigerTribe by awarding individuals for their efforts through out the season.
The award recipients on the night were:
Service Award – Meegan Snell
Meegan epitomises hard-work and loyalty, all the perfect qualities that make up a Tiger. We were so fortunate to have Meegan in a coaching capacity for many years and we thank her for her tireless effort in support of not only the Carina Leagues Club Tigers, but the broader Brisbane East Netball Community. She has helped and nourished many athletes and coaches along the Brisbane East Netball pathway and will show up for the athletes no matter what.
Ruby Most Valuable Player – Alexia Baker
Alexia is known for her speed and her creativity on court, she used her experience on court to help her teammates be the best version of themselves. She works tirelessly in defence and always puts 100% in no matter what. Lexi is the go to girl and the person you want on your team, not just for her on court ability, but also how she holds her self to a high standard off the court.
Ruby Most Valuable Player – Maddie Ryan
Maddie is a relentless defender, who has a never give up attitude that helps create multiple intercept opportunities for her team. Maddie is a hard-worker, constantly pushing herself and the people around her to be better. Known for her ability to be a nuisance for all attackers, Maddie constantly rises to the occasion often finding herself creating match winning turnovers.
Sapphire Player’s Player- Ally McLeod
Newcomer, Ally McLeod took out the Sapphire Player’s Player award, which is peer voted. Ally is a determined mid court player, who never gives up and was able to become a leader within the team instantly. Ally is able to motivate her teammates through her sheer hard work. Ally’s ability to shutdown her attacking player and create opportunities for her team to score was a huge asset and we are so glad she chose the Tigers.
Sapphire Most Valuable Player – Amy Sommerville
Amy Sommerville is known for her trademark sky high shot sailing through the hoop with nothing but net. Amy is a play maker. With her impeccable timing and netball smarts, she will always be right where her team needs her. She works tirelessly in defence. Leaving no stone unturned, Amy goes above and beyond to create turnover opportunities for her team. Off the court, Amy leads the Tiger Club with pride and by example.
