Leading the way to the Grand Final : Georgia Bloxham

Being a part of the Ruby team in 2021 , Georgia has learnt a lot from her experience in the Grand Final and finishing runners up. This year Georgia gets to lead the young side onto the court as captain.
“Captaining this team is an absolute honour and privilege, however, it does not change my mindset heading into the Grand Final. I will be focused on executing my job on court. I’m looking forward to playing with this young, extremely talented group of girls and sharing this experience. “

The Ruby team has played against USQ Jets three times already this year and have been successful each time, with three wins. Whilst, that would give the team confidence, Georgia and the team are focussed on their own game plan and ensuring they stick to the values that have brought them to the Grand Final and given them their wins so far this season. “Each time we have played Jets has been challenging and has required us to take our game to another level. I expect the same for this weekend. It doesn’t matter that we have already beaten them; the grand final is what counts. Our defensive end has a strong game plan. Personally, I’ll be focused on keeping my player out of the game.”

Jets Player to watch
“Sam Ryan, the Jets Goal Attack, is their key playmaker. She’s very skilful and experienced.

Tigers Player to Watch
“Keep an eye on them all. We have a broad array of talent in this team and each player will dominate their opponent. However, I’d keep an eye on Aaliyah Sheppard. She’ll come through with an intercept when you least expect it.”
